The small village of Therma, is pretty well located in the northern part of the island. There are plenty of opportunities for fun and adventure around it as it's near the sea, the vathres and is the starting point for the most accessible hiking trail to the top of Mount Saos.

The fishing port and the beach are only 600 meters away. Kamariotissa, the entry point to the island is 15 minutes away by car (about 13 km).

The harbour, which was built in the early 2000s also has a very large parking lot nearby. On one side of the dike, a mural quotes an idea of Heraclit's philosophy: Ta Panta Rei ("everything flows").

The beach is quite wide compared to most other beaches in Samothraki, but rocky. The water is clear and becomes deep quickly. Mount Saos makes for quite an impressive background for your beach photos.

In season (typically July-August), the beach is organized - there are sunbeds, reed umbrellas, showers, toilets and changing huts.

The most well-known and best beach bar Samothraki has to offer is found here. Saoki opened in 1997 and was the first establishment of its type on the island. Up to the COVID-19 pandemic, Saoki was home to live music concerts by various bands from the Tracia area.

In the summer months the beach of Therma can become pretty crowded. It's a meeting place for people staying in the village and the two campings nearby.

By the port entrance, on the right there's a small white chapel with a tiled roof and blue door and windows. The inscription above the entrance mentions that it is dedicated to the Assumption of Mary and was built by a ship captain from Chios in 1958. Legend has it that he raised the church after surviving a fierce storm.

Relatively close to the beach one can find the vathres and waterfalls of the two rivers that cross Therma - Gria Vathra and Tshivdogianni. The closesest vathres are easily accesibile to everyone so in one day you could combine a quick dip in the natural pools with a swim in the sea.
