The beach of the villages Makrilies and Lakkoma is situated towards the south of the island, 8 kilometers away from Kamariotissa and half the distance to Pachia Ammos. This beach is used mostly by the locals. It has gravel and clear clean, but deep waters. The area is protected by the northern winds, so the sea is warmer than in other parts of the island.
The only facilities are the sunbeds and umbrellas of the Eroessa-Samothraki Beach hotel, situated on a hill above the shore, in the Makrilies village.
From this side there's a view over the Gokceada, Limnos and Thassos islands, but also over Mount Athos and the sunsets are breathtaking.
If you are hungry pay a visit to one of the most recommended tavernas of the island, Akrogiali, which is famous for its fresh fish and sea food and which is close by.
