In Greek, the word kymata means "waves". It's also the name of a guesthouse and taverna on the northern shore located 5 kilometers away from Kamariotissa, near Paleopoli. Although the coast is rocky in the north, the owner brings in sand every year and lays it in the sunbed area.
There are also umbrellas and kayaks available.
There's a generous parking lot by the guesthouse and a playground on the shore.
In season, the small Kymata beach is one of the few organized beaches on the island.
